The Most Important Gift

Hello All.

I happened upon this site, while searching for those in need of help, during this holiday season. I must say that I was a little disappointed to hear so many lacking the important, basic necessities, but asking for gifts to open instead. What does a 6 month or 18 month old know about Christmas? What comfort does a toy offer a child who's cold or hungry. This difficult time, is the perfect time to remember the true meaning of Christmas. Show love, nurture, protect, and shelter your children. There's no better gift than that.

I totally agree.

I have been teaching this same thing for quite a while.

People don't listen.

Inadvertently, someone will be here in January begging for rent money, power bill money or food money because they spent the monies they had for these bills on toys.

Some of us can only learn a lesson 'one way'. Thats the 'hard way'.

I understand the pain a parent feels when the child is sad because they have no toys. However, how much pain will that parent feel when the child has NO shelter,food,heat.

Times are different. I know,its hard to adjust to change.

Words to the wise for sure.

I wholeheartedly agree. Your children will not remember what they got for Christmas last year but you can bet they will remember being cold, hungry or homeless.

People, please get your priorities straight and meet their basic needs before toys.
